Among the honorees was ninth-grader Tiffany Dotting, who received the Principal Honor Roll Award for her academic excellence.

“It confirms my work and all that I’ve done this year,” said Tiffany, who was cited for ‘Outstanding Academic Performance.’ “I’ll continue to do my best.”

Her proud mom, Michelle Anderson, clapped energetically when the girl was handed the certificate.

“I know she has potential and I support her,” Ms. Anderson said. “I believe in education and I will continue to instill it.”

After the event, Ms. Naughton said the awards are meant to inspire the students to commit to excellence.

“We want them to see themselves as being great. We recognize the students not only for their academic excellence but also their pursuit of excellence,” she said. “We recognize their commitment to the school community and the relationships they built.”
