End of First Quarter
Read Dr. Pearce's Message in the interactive Knight Tea newsletter.
The first quarter was a challenging, yet exciting, time as we witness our 9th graders embark on their high school journey while our seniors prepare themselves for the next stage of their academic pursuits.
At The NEW Mount Vernon High School, we believe that a strong foundation in freshman year sets the tone for a successful high school experience. Our 9th graders are beginning to learn the expectations of high school, both academically and socially. It is crucial that we, as a community, support and guide them during this transitional period. Families are encouraged to engage in open conversations with their children about the good habits of an effective learner. By instilling these habits early on, we can help our students build a solid framework for success throughout their high school careers.
As we focus on the development of our 9th graders, we also want to acknowledge our seniors who are preparing to embark on the next phase of their academic journey. This year represents the culmination of their efforts and the fruits of their hard work. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and are excited to witness the impact they will make as they enter the next chapter of their lives.
With the start of this new quarter, we are thrilled to introduce this year's theme, "The Year of Impact: A focus on learning." This theme aligns perfectly with our vision of cultivating a vibrant learning community where every student can thrive. We believe in the power of education to transform lives, and this year presents a prime opportunity for us to become more intentional in supporting students academically and socially to create lasting impact on their futures.
To our entire community, I encourage you to seize this moment and give your best efforts during this quarter. Let us rally together to make this a year of growth, achievement, and personal fulfillment. By fostering a passion for learning and cultivating good habits, we can propel our students towards realizing their full potential.
Thank you for your ongoing support, trust, and commitment to education. With your partnership, we are confident in the success that lies ahead for each and every one of our students. Together, let us make this "The Year of Impact" at the NEW Mount Vernon High School.
Warm regards,
