Library/Media Center

The Library Media Center at Mount Vernon High School serves all grade levels, ages, and content areas. Our mission is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. In the media center, students can utilize information literacy, technology tools, and resources, and develop a love for reading. We recognize the importance for students to acquire 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. These skills are taught through our media curriculum and STEM activities as well as coding exercises. The library is the central hub of our school where scholars can learn, play, and explore.

The goals of this department are to build a foundation for lifelong learning through developing information literacy in our students, instill a love of reading for pleasure in our students, develop digital literacy skills, and develop information literacy skills.
